Officers Panzer Ersatz Abteilung 18 Award Document for the war merrit cross first class.

Awarded to:  Hauptmann Konrad Buchbinder on 20th April 1943 in Dresden.

Panzer Ersatz Abteilung 18 was set up in central Russia on May 15, 1942. The department was formed from the staff of the III. Detachment from the 8th Panzer Regiment as well as the 6th and 11th companies from the destroyed 7th Panzer Regiment was set up with 3 companies. The department was set up as an independent department. It was initially deployed with the 18th Panzer Division in the Orsha and Vitebsk area. From April 1943 the department was used as an army force. In December 1943 the department was renamed Panzer-abteilung 504 (Tiger!)
